Avimec for Treating Scaly Face Mite (Burrowing Mites)

Introduction: Scaly Face Mites are common parasites that burrow into featherless areas of birds, such as the beak, cere, legs, and feet, causing painful lesions and deformities. If left untreated, these mites can lead to severe health issues, including starvation due to difficulty eating and drinking.

Avimec is a highly effective and simple-to-administer treatment developed by Vetafarm, specifically designed to eliminate Scaly Face Mites.

Dosage Instructions:

• Birds less than 30g body weight: Apply 1 drop of Avimec.
• Birds between 30-100g body weight: Apply 2 drops.

Application:

• Place the drops on an unfeathered area of the bird’s skin (such as the back, thigh, or under the wing).
• Do not apply directly to the affected area.
• Repeat application once a week for three doses.

Treatment Protocol:

• Treat all birds in the aviary, even if some birds do not show symptoms. Scaly Face Mites are highly contagious.
• Full recovery can take up to 6 weeks.

Storage:

• Store below 25°C (air-conditioned environment).

Expiry:

• 18 months from the date of manufacture.

Active Constituent:

• 1000µg/mL Ivermectin
